It's hard to believe the year 2011 is almost over. I guess the year always seems to go by fast in retrospect, and slow while in the moment. I think it's important to be thankful for another year of life and all the joys, sorrows that you may have experienced. For you never fully grow without hardships and won't know what joy is without pain in your life. Every year I make my own set of predictions, and I'm looking forward to seeing what I wrote from a year ago, and see if any of them came true, as well as make some resolutions or goals in the new year. The only problem is is that these resolutions usually only last until the beginning of February.
Looking back on some of the events that happened this year include a big graduation party. That included 5 graduates, 4 of my siblings from college, an me from high school. That was a lot of fun, with all of our friends and families there to celebrate with us. It started the excitement of summer, and the break from school to vacation. And I remember thinking about the fall, and my first semester at college. the brand new beginnings, and change of the seasons, as well as environment and friends and classes.
In all honesty, it wasn't easy, it was actually pretty difficult. Just finding friends, and trying to develop yourself in a place where everyone's on their own schedule and doing their own thing( that's college!)
I'm very grateful for this year, and all the things that have happened, and what I have learned from. I'm looking forward to the celebration of the new year, and what 2012 will bring.
