Stop this Train

Stop this train/ I want to get off and go home again/ I can't take the speed it's moving in/ I know I can't/ but honestly wont someone stop this train.
I don't know if you have heard of this song before, but I love listening to it, and sometimes I feel the same way. I want to stop this train! I know things are going to change, and I know time keeps on moving on, yet we do not have the ability nor the power to stop or change it.

Each time I listen to this song by John Mayer, I realize how fast life can go. Ironically I was listening to it once on Bart and thinking how time doesn't stand still. Time is like the speed of light, it's always moving.

In the song, John doesn't want to grow older, and is only good at being young. But his dad tells him, don't stop this train, don't change the place your in, John honestly, we'll never stop this train.

Basically there are three stages to this song, and perhaps even life.

He wanted time to stand still, and for things to stay the same. He didn't want to grow older and didn't want to see his parents pass away.
He turned to his wise dad, and he told him logically, that we will never stop this train.
He realizes that he can not change or stop time, cause now I'll see I'll never stop this train.
