Adjusting to spicy

Last week my friend and I went out to lunch for her birthday at an Indian Restaurant. For the past couple weeks we have been planning to go to a restaurant that serves spicy food, especially since she knows that I don't love spicy food like she does. But we went. After all it was her birthday!
We had a good time and the food was really good. Lets just say the bread and the soda helped with the spices. Afterwards we took some pictures in the beautiful scenery.

Funny story

It's funny how you think you know what something is or means but it actually isn't what you assumed it to be. This type of incident happened to me recently. One of my friends from Student Government and I were talking about our day, and what not and he mentioned how after his class he went to the washroom. When he said this, I immediately assumed it was a laundry mat and remember thinking, wow that's pretty cool that we have a laundry mat at school!! It made perfect sense to me. That same day the printer broke in the Student Government office and he and other people were fixing it and he got some ink on his pants so it just made sense to me that it was a room with a washing machine, since that is what a washroom is, right? It's like when you are dreaming and in your dream, everything makes sense, though it's bazaar and makes no sense whatsoever.

Through out the past two to three weeks, I kept on hearing that word from him. And I always had a laundry mat pictured in my head and I never seconded guessed it., until two days ago. He mentioned washroom again and then I asked where it was located at school and he said it was near the cafe. And I was like, oh so what do you do there, just wash your clothes? And he was like, what?! no it's a restroom. We both were laughing so hard. I felt kind of embarrassed that for the past three weeks I just assumed that it was a place where you wash your clothes. Yeah. Well now I know what a washroom is.

Bridal Shower for my sista

Last Sunday was my sister's bridal shower in Sacramento. And what a shower it was! I had fun as well as the other bridesmaids and friends who were invited but most importantly my sister Meghan, the bride had a ball.

My sisters and my Mom and my Mom's friend had fun decorating her house before the shower while she was out eating lunch with her fiance'. I must say we did a pretty good job too. Although she knew that there was going to be a bridal shower at her house, she was still surprised as ever and smiling from ear to ear.

The food was amazing as well as the dessert. And the guests had a fun time with the games. One of them was making a wedding dress from toilet paper by wrapping it around the person who chose to be the  'bride' and the bride being the judge of which one she liked best.

It was a beautiful day, warm and sunny and anticipating the last few weeks before the big day!

This is me explaining why the dress that I helped designed via toilet paper is the best dress!

I was going to be a tutor

So I was going to be a tutor on a website. I thought it would be a good idea, a way to share my
strengths with someone who needs assistant and to earn some extra money. The thing is in order to become one on this site, you have to take tests and pass them in order to tutor them. Makes sense, right? However, you only get one chance to pass it. I was mainly going to tutor English, and things pertaining to it but I also wanted to broaden my horizons and so I decided to take tests in different levels of Math, American History, Anatomy, and Psychology. I passed some of them but the people from the website emailed me today and it looks like I wont be a tutor, maybe because of all the different subjects that I signed up to do. Anyhow, I think it's pretty funny and something new to try out but oh well. I'll laugh about it instead.

laugh at yourself

I wanted to share a story that I happened about a week ago. I was at school and after my class ended my good friend Paulina asked if I wanted to go get something to eat. We went to a burrito place nearby, one that we have been to before with a few other friends. They are so good and have pretty good prices too. We had a good lunch, and we both got the same thing, a bean, cheese burrito with a bottled soda. And then after eating, she asked do you want to get your nails done? It was so random and out of nowhere but we had time and it was right next door. We picked our colors for a manicure, she chose a bright neon color and I chose a bright pink for my nails. When the nail lady was putting my hand in water to let it soak, I accidently spilled it on her and felt so bad. Once my nails were done and I was holding them up to a fan, I again accidently hit one of my nails against the fan and it chipped off some of the paint. Paulina at the this point was just laughing, but even more so when I was going to pay and was trying to get my debit card out if my wallet and I guess the paint was still wet and I ruined it! Paulina was like, Colleen, your nails! And I was like, it's ok. But the lady was kind enough to redo the ones that were ruined. And also put back my card in my wallet so I wouldn't mess them up again. The word got out and eventually our other friends' knew about the whole thing too. But I laughed at it too and learned that it's good to laugh at yourself every now and then.
